The Mauldin Sports Center is where you can expect great things, and is devoted to strengthening the community through programs that promote total wellness, unique fitness and quality relationships. Meet the group fitness instructors:

Jenn-
a New Jersey native, is the Fitness and Wellness Director of the MSC. She helped open the sports center in 2007. She holds a BS in Exercise Science. Jenn teaches a little of everything. She is a CGFI, CPT, CYI, Licensed Zumba Instructor, Certified Pilates Instructor, Licensed Piloxing instructor, Licensed  POUND instructor, and Race Director. Outside of MSC Jenn enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, friends, and family.

Amanda-
is a native of South Carolina. She holds a BS in Exercise Science, and has been a full time employee with MSC since 2007. She is a CGFI, CPT, and a License Piloxing Instructor. She is also the Cheer Director for the Mauldin Rec Youth Cheerleaders. Amanda teaches a little of everything, but thrives on high intensity classes that get your heart pumping such as: Tabata, HIIT, Boot Camp, Piloxing, etc. In Amanda's spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, two dogs, family, and friends. "Fitness is not about being better than someone else...it's about being better than you used to be."


Sara-
If you are looking for a fun and challenging way to start your day, Sara Phillips is sure to get your morning off to a great start. Sara typically teaches the 5:45am classes (and evening classes in the summer months). Sara has been at Mauldin Sports Center since they opened in 2007 – she loves the members and enjoys encouraging them to push themselves beyond their perceived limits. Sara teaches a wide variety of classes (cycle, boot camp, tabata, strength training, HIIT, etc.) and has been known to take classes outdoors for added fun. When she’s not at MSC, Sara can be found teaching dance classes at Dancers Corner, spending time with her husband, Randy, or entertaining her Border Collies, Milly and Pip. Meet her in the gym some morning! You will get an excellent workout, build-up your endorphins, and start the day laughing with a great crew.


Nicole-
In 2004, I started attending yoga classes as an outlet for a stressful job. I enrolled at a local yoga studio’s year-long teacher training program in 2006 and graduated in 2007. In addition to teaching at the Mauldin Sports Center since 2008, I teach two weekly classes at the Mauldin Senior Center and have training in pre-natal yoga. I love seeing the tangible benefits of yoga and hearing from my students how yoga has improved their day-to-day lives. You don’t have to be flexible to come to yoga, you just need an open mind and a willingness to try.

Kayla
Kayla has worked for the city of Mauldin for over 4 years now. She works in many different areas at the sports center, but her passion is fitness. She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Licensed Pound Instructor, and a Licensed Piloxing Instructor.  Outside of the sports center Kayla enjoys taking care of her horses (and riding her horses), spending time with her boyfriend, and little brother Miller.

Tyler -
I've been teaching group fitness classes for 5 years and I've CPT for 7 years. I have my CPT through ISSA and I am an L-1 certified CrossFit instructor. I teach Strength Training, HIIT, Tabata, Core, FIST, Biggest Loser, and KB Blast. I am also a full time firefighter for the city of Fountain Inn. I love spending time with my wife and two daughters, doing things outdoors, and competing in CrossFit competitions.

Leah-
Born in Miami raised in SW Florida. Married with 2 boys and 2 girls. Pharmacy tech and I absolutely love teaching zumba!! I've always loved dancing and this was such a fun way to do my cardio and lose weight I decided to get my license!  I love all of the wonderful people I've met doing this :) I also love taking pictures and do photography on the side!
